Gavriela is an adorable 4-year-old girl, who has been daily struggling ever since she was born. When the little girl came into this world, she was immediately transferred to the NICU, since she was presenting with microcephaly and hypoxemia. The baby had to spend the first 3 months of her life in the NICU, where she was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect which was caused by a rare neurogenetic syndrome. Since she was on life support for so many months, she eventually developed bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

Today, Gavriela is presenting with severe psychokinetic delay and hypotonia. She is unable to speak, while she was being fed via gastrostomy till recently. A year ago, she was subjected to heart surgery and even though the doctors managed to repair her heart defect, she still requires oxygen, due to the bronchopulmonary dysplasia she has developed.  

As we can all understand, the little girl’s health-related expenses are unbearable. Gavriela receives medication daily, while she is regularly subjected to home-based physiotherapy sessions. Furthermore, she daily requires a variety of medical expendable supplies, as well as the proper medical equipment, such as an oxygen device that her parents have to rent on a monthly basis. After all of these years, Gavriela’s parents have reached a dead end, therefore they are unable to cope with their little girl’s health-related, ever-increasing expenses.

Little Gavriela has been struggling for survival ever since she came into this world, while her parents are doing everything in their power, in order to offer their little angel the best medical care possible. Today however, they need us by their side. Together, we can support them throughout their daily struggle!
