Ioannis is an adorable four-year-old boy, who has been facing an uphill struggle ever since he came into this world, since he has been diagnosed with a rare form of congenital heart defect. When Ioannis’ mother was pregnant, her prenatal tests hadn’t shown anything out of the ordinary. When, however, the young woman was eight months pregnant, she developed high blood pressure and was rushed to the hospital. There, she was subjected to further tests, which revealed a severe anatomical abnormality of the baby’s cardiovascular system, called single ventricle defect.

So far, the little fighter has been subjected to two heart surgeries, while according to the pediatric cardiologist who monitors his condition, he needs to be soon subjected to the third and final surgery, which is essential for the heart’s proper function.

The surgery will be performed in a clinic abroad, by a specialized surgeon, who has successfully performed the two previous surgeries. Little Ioannis’ parents reached out to ACT OF KINDNESS, since they have been struggling financially after settling the cost of the 2 previous surgeries. After, however, a thorough inquiry of our interdisciplinary staff, and after further communication with the clinic abroad, we organized this aid campaign which will allow this little fighter to get the life he deserves!

If little Ioannis is not soon subjected to this heart surgery, his life will be in danger. We cannot turn our backs on him. If we combine our powers, we’ll be able to offer this four-year-old angel the chance to have a normal life! We join forces for Ioannis!
