Kaliopi is a 48-year-old woman who has been experiencing severe health problems, since she has been diagnosed with diabetes, decreased visual acuity, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and hidradenitis suppurativa, a chronic disease which causes painful lumps to the skin.

A few months ago however, Kaliopi had to face one more health condition. Her hearing began to gradually deteriorate, while she also started to experience nausea, vertigo and tinnitus. The 48-year-old woman recently visited an ORL doctor, and after a series of tests, she was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss. As weeks go by, Kaliopi’s hearing is gradually deteriorating. At this point, she is completely deaf in her right ear, while her hearing in the left ear is severely impaired.

According to the doctor who monitors her condition, Kaliopi needs to be immediately subjected to a hearing aid fitting. Unfortunately Kaliopi has found herself in a dead end, since she doesn’t have the means to cope with the purchase of the hearing aid, as she is barely managing to cover the cost of her health-related expenses.

Recently, the 48-year-old woman reached out to ACT OF KINDNESS and after a thorough inquiry of the Organization’s medical and social department, we organized this aid campaign, which will allow this woman, who has been facing so many challenges over all these years, to get her hearing back.

Kaliopi has been through a lot, however she always manages to overcome all obstacles with a smile on her face. Today however, she needs our help. Together, we can offer her what she desires the most: the gift of hearing!
