Σύντομη Περιγραφή

Lydia is a 3-year-old girl who has been experiencing a severe health problem, since she has been diagnosed with a glioma, a brain tumor which originates in the glial cells. According to the doctors who monitor her condition, the little girl needs to be subjected, as soon as possible, to a surgical resection of the tumor. Due to the location of the tumor however, which extends to the cervical spinal cord, the surgical resection is considered to be highly dangerous, if performed in a public hospital of the country, since it could cause severe and irreversible brain damage. The child’s parents have already been in contact with a University Hospital of Germany, which has agreed to take on this case, while the surgery date has already been scheduled. The family’s health insurance provider is going to cover the cost of the little girl’s surgery and hospitalization, however her parents are unable to cope with the cost of their transportation and lodging during their stay in Germany.

Lydia is a 3-year-old girl who has been experiencing a severe health problem, since she has been diagnosed with a glioma, a brain tumor which originates in the glial cells. Up till a few months ago, the little girl was perfectly healthy. It all changed however, in July of 23’, when Lydia began to experience morning sickness. Since the symptoms weren’t subsiding, and since the child was not gaining any weight, her parents visited a Children’s hospital of Athens, in order for her to be subjected to the required tests. The test results however, were a punch in the stomach, since they revealed a sizable tumor to the child’s brain.

The family has reached a dead end and they are asking for our help. ACT OF KINDNESS came in contact with the doctors who monitor the child’s condition and after a thorough inquiry of our interdisciplinary staff, we organized this aid campaign in order to support this family who is spending agonizing hours.

Little Lydia needs to be immediately subjected to the surgical resection of the tumor. We are running out of time. Together, we have the power to offer her this life-saving journey. Any contribution can make a great difference!

Latest update regarding Lydia, the 3-year-old little angel who remains hospitalized in Germany, after being subjected to a brain tumor resection surgery!

A few days ago, we came in contact with Lydia’s father, who informed us that his little one was recently subjected to one more surgical procedure due to the presence of excessive serous fluid leaking from the incision. As a result, the little girl will have to remain hospitalized for at least 2 more weeks.
Regarding her clinical status, our little friend is recovering well after the long and challenging surgery she was recently subjected to, since the experienced surgical team which performed the surgery, managed to remove a great part of the tumor, without damaging the surrounding cranial and cervical nerves.
Thanks to your defining support, ACT OF KINDNESS managed to cover the cost of the family’s transportation, living expenses and lodging for the past month! Our efforts, however, don’t end here, since due to the prolongation of our little friend’s hospitalization, the family will have to remain in Germany for a longer period of time.
The little girl’s parents are thanking you all from the bottom of their heart for your so valuable contribution.
We will remain in constant communication with little Lydia’s family, while keeping you updated on any new information!
    God bless you all.
