Marios is a 12-year-old boy, who was perfectly healthy up till recently. His life however turned upside down 6 months ago, when his mother noticed a lump on his right thigh. Marios was subjected to all the necessary tests, while the doctors scheduled his admission to the hospital, in order to surgically remove the strange mass. The surgery went well, however the biopsy’s results were a punch in the gut:

Neoplasm-Ewing sarcoma. Currently, little Marios is being hospitalized in the pediatric oncology department of a university hospital of Thessaloniki, where he is being subjected to the required chemotherapy sessions. The doctors are quite confident, since the cancer hasn’t metastasized to other areas, while the tumor’s size remains stable.  

Marios’ mother had to leave her job and relocate to Thessaloniki in order to be close to her child. However, the new circumstances have brought the family to a dead-end, since they are unable to cope with the lodging costs and the cost of their constant transportation to and from their hometown.

Little Marios has suddenly found himself fighting for his life, while his parents are experiencing their worst nightmare. This family needs us by their side. Together, we can offer them a helping hand and stand by them throughout this ordeal. Any small gesture can make a great difference!
