What we do
The Act of Love Organization, with selflessness, solidarity and respect, stands by every child and every family facing livelihood and health problems, providing completely free medical care, rehabilitation, moral and material support, without discrimination and aiming at equal access to quality health care and the necessary social services and goods. As part of our intervention, we provide :
Medical services and treatment programmes
Social work
A key priority of the Agency's work is to take action to ensure access to high quality essential services, including integrated patient-centred medical and social research and healthcare, as well as long-term care until full recovery. All of the above is achieved with the decisive contribution of the team of specialized scientists (Social Workers, Psychologists, Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists) who support our work in every possible way. More specifically, we offer :
-Health care that the family cannot provide due to financial difficulties.
-Diagnostic tests that cannot be carried out directly and free of charge by state institutions.
-Specialised treatments for children requiring private intervention or going abroad.
-Creating a campaign and mobilising society as a whole to raise the necessary resources needed to tackle serious health problems that require immediate intervention.
-Orthopaedic equipment for people with disabilities, which they are unable to purchase due to financial difficulties.
-Medical equipment and consumables necessary for the daily care of people with disabilities and chronic diseases.
-Physical, occupational and speech therapies that will improve the health and physical condition of a child with developmental problems and disabilities.
- Mental health and psychological support service.
- Transport, accommodation and food services for families who need to move away from their place of residence for health and hospitalisation reasons.
In order to fight poverty, we support people with livelihood problems, so that no one is deprived of the necessary goods that will provide them with decent living conditions.
The central pillar of our work is our Social Grocery, where all food and essentials are collected and then distributed to people and families in need. For a better society without social inequalities, we strive to be on the front line wherever there is a need in the following ways:
-Food supply.
-Provision of essentials.
- Supply of clothing and footwear
- Supply of books, school supplies, toys.
- Providing assistance to victims of natural disasters.
- Intervention in natural and non-disaster conditions to provide essential goods to the affected people. An integral part of our social work is moral support to the people we support, so that they find the strength to continue their life's journey with hope and dignity.
