Campaign Story

Christos-Rafail is an adorable 6-month-old boy, who has been fighting for his life ever since he was born. When the little guy came into this world, he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a severe, congenital, complex heart defect. The baby was immediately transferred to the NICU, while he had to be subjected to a stent placement when he was just 10 days old. After being hospitalized for 2 months, the little guy got discharged and made it home, however he had to receive heart medication and frequently travel to a hospital in Athens, in order to be subjected to follow-up tests. A few months ago, we organized an aid campaign for Christos-Rafail and we managed to support the little guy’s family, who were unable to cope with their son’s health-related expenses.

One month ago, little Christos-Rafail was subjected to a heart surgery, which was performed in a specialized facility of the country. The surgery was successful, since the doctors managed to repair, up to a degree, the structural abnormalities of his heart. The little guy is currently hospitalized in the clinic, while in the foreseeable future he will have to be subjected to a second heart surgery, which aims to fully repair the heart defects. Christos-Rafail’s parents are in despair, since they don’t have the means to gather the sum that is required for the upcoming surgery, while they also need to settle the medical bills that have accumulated from their son’s previous surgery.

Little Christos-Rafail has been struggling ever since he came into this world, however he has proven that he is a strong little boy with an immense will to live! Let us all make sure that he gets the opportunity to be subjected to this heart surgery! Any contribution could actually save his life!
