Campaign Story

A few months ago, George’s life was turned upside down in the worst possible way when he collided with a truck while riding his motorbike. The 36-year-old father lost his arm at the scene, while he also sustained severe shoulder fractures. Even though the doctors managed to save his life, they were unable to save his arm, which was amputated at the level between the shoulder and the elbow.

Giorgos has been discharged from the hospital, while he is currently subjected to physiotherapy sessions. According, however, to the doctor who has been treating him, the treatment sessions must increase in frequency, since the 36-year-old man’s shoulder joints have become extremely stiff, causing him intense pain. At the same time, Giorgos must also procure a custom prosthetic, which will improve his posture, as well as the function of his arm.

Giorgos has come to a dead end, since his health insurance only covers a part of the cost of the prosthetic and the treatments he is subjected to for the past few months. Not knowing where else to turn, he contacted ACT OF KINDNESS and after a thorough inquiry of our interdisciplinary staff, we organized this aid campaign, in order to support the 36-year-old father, who has been going through hard times.

A car accident shattered Giorgos’ life. We cannot turn back time. We can, however, help this fighter, take his life back and raise his children with dignity! We join forces for Giorgos!
