Campaign Story

Manolis is a 50-year-old husband and father, who, over the past few years, has been experiencing severe health problems, since he has been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, anxiety disorder, thyroidopathy and hyperlipidaemia. However, his clinical state has recently deteriorated, since he began to experience difficulty breathing, combined with sudden weight loss. Manolis consulted with his pneumonologist, who referred him to a diagnostic center, in order to be subjected to further tests. However, the test results were unsettling, since they revealed a suspicious mass in the left lung, as well as enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes.

According to the pneumonologist who monitors his condition, Manolis needs to be immediately subjected to a thoracic paracentesis, which will lead to an accurate diagnosis and which will allow him to proceed with the proper treatment. Since the local public hospital has a long waiting list, the doctor has recommended that the biopsy would be performed in a private clinic. Unfortunately, Manolis is unable to cope with the cost of the thoracic paracentesis and the additional diagnostic tests, since he is currently facing financial hardship.

Manolis needs to be immediately subjected to the thoracic paracentesis which the doctors have recommended, so that he’ll be able to proceed with the proper treatment. Any delay could be fatal. There is no time to waste. We have to take action immediately! We all join forces for Manolis!
