12-years-old Dimitris has been diagnosed with congenital, bilateral, sensorineural deafness. During the first years of his life, Dimitris couldn’t hear at all. When he reached the age of 2, he was subjected to a cochlear implantation, which was life-changing, since his hearing was finally restored.

2 years ago however, the implant’s speech processor suffered irreversible damage. Ever since that happened, Dimitris has been living in a world of silence, while this new reality has taken a great toll on his social life and school performance. Even though Dimitris’ parents have already come in contact with the hearing aid company’s distributor, they don’t have the means to make this purchase and acquire the new speech processor their son desperately needs.

Dimitris has always been an outgoing and happy little boy. Today, he has become a loner. He doesn’t want to go to school or play with his friends. The only thing he truly wants is to get his hearing back. Something that most of us take for granted constitutes a gift of life for this little boy. So let us all join forces and offer him this gift, which will change his life forever!
